Description
In Early Language: The Bernstein Cognitive Method, Rob focuses on one of the most essential stages of development: the emergence of real language. This course explores how language grows through thinking, meaning, and relationship – not just repetition or memorization. Rob shows parents, teachers, and practitioners how to better understand the autistic child’s inner world and support the development of authentic communication.
Throughout this course, you will learn how to recognize the difference between repeated language and meaningful language, understand the role of echolalia, encourage joint attention, and help children move toward more organized thinking and self-generated speech. Using real-life examples and practical teaching moments, Rob demonstrates how children can progress from disconnected or habitual language toward real conversation and intentional communication.
